Athena was adopted out from us as a puppy named, "Sawyer."  Sawyer was found dumped at the local sawmill.  I have included a picture of what she looked like.  The young couple who adopted Sawyer were expecting a baby and planned to build a fence for Athena to play in their yard.  Unfortunately, this didn't happen and they ended up not really having time for a puppy at all. 

Athena was returned to us very underweight and spindly.  With lots of TLC, food and fresh air, Athena put weight on and started to romp and play again.  She is in good condition now and continuing to put weight on as she matures.  She is a big dog with a big dog bark that would make trespassers think twice.  However, she is great with kids, other dogs (loves to play tag) and fine with cats.  Athena would be a fine addition to any family.

Because she was adopted out once before, her adoption fee is only $50.

The typical adoption fee for dogs is $150.  It includes vaccination, deworming , spay/neuter, heartworm testing on dogs of age and microchipping, which is now mandatory by state law.  Some dogs we discount to as little as $50 due to sponsorship.  Some dogs we ask a higher adoption fee, which helps us recoup expenses on heartworm treatment on other dogs.

All cats are spayed/neutered/vaccinated/flea treated/dewormed and microchipped prior to adoption.  Cat adoption fees range from $60-$100.  We spay/neuter/microchip/vaccinate and deworm all kittens and cats, prior to adoption.  Our shyer/less adoptable cats are classed as "barn cats" and are free with a completed/approved barn cat application, which can be found on our website.
